Pickleball
Pickleball
Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the world – and for good reasons.
Combining elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis, Pickleball is easy to learn, great fun to play and suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
Whether you consider yourself to be a competitive player or if you are just looking for a new, fun way to stay active, Pickleball offers an exciting, low-impact workout that keeps you coming back for more!
Played on a badminton court with a lightweight paddle (or sometimes referred to as a bat) and a plastic ball, this is one of those rare games that are accessible to just about everyone.
Our Sports Hall has three Pickleball courts side-by-side and there are already a number of established groups who book both daytime and evening sessions, plus there are lots of slots throughout the week that are currently still available.
The rules are very simple, the pace is lively and the learning curve is swift, making it easy for beginners to jump-in and start playing, right away.
As well as the fun of actually playing, Pickleball is also a great cardio workout that helps balance, coordination and agility – all WITHOUT any high impact on your joints.
In addition to the physical benefits, this is a very social game. The relatively small court size encourages conversation and friendly back & forth chit-chat, making it a perfect way to meet new people.
There are already local leagues, clubs and competitions and the whole South Cumbria Pickleball movement is expanding rapidly.
So, whether you’re looking to compete, stay fit or just have a bit of fun, Pickleball delivers.
It’s fun, fast & friendly and once you start – you won’t want to stop!
